poor value of pound against euro

anybody know why the value of the euro is so high compared with a couple of years ago ?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.partly the euro being strong, partly the pound being weaker (sterling is still ok against the US dollar, because that's weaker still). It's more or less to do with the economies of the areas involved. The main economy in the euro zone is Germany, which is doing better than Britain because it didn't get involved with subprime mortgages and housing bubbles and didn't move away from industry to financial services.
