Hi
My boyfriend's mum and dad had booked a holiday for this september to USA through Expedia. Now his Dad has had to go into hospital and they want to cancel the holiday. Would they be entitled to any refunds? The flights were through BA, but i think the whole holiday was booked through Expedia anyway.... It seems a bit unfair if they loose the whole holiday because of the Dad being ill.... Thanks for any answers

Only if he has travel insurance that covers this sort of event.

If Dad had the condition before he bought the insurance, they may not pay out.
we had to cancel our family holiday because my son ended up in hospital, we claimed it back as we were covered for travel insurance and it was pretty well handled. try and obtain proof from a doctor/surgeon etc... as we found that helped too.
if you have travel insurance, then contact them and ask for a claim form, your doctor will fill it out for you and you will get the money back, less any excess and fees etc,if you dont have any insurance, then im afraid they have lost the lot, your best bet then would be to change the names on the holiday and someone else go instead, might cost a fee to change names.
as above really. but I'm sure there is a term within Expedia's terms and conditions that would deal with something like this.

but otherwise you cannot claim your costs for the holiday, hence insurance
