i am looking for a agent that represents one product companies to the major supermarkets &high st shops

There might be such an animal, but if I was in your position I would contact a few of the smaller one product companies whose products you see in the supermarkets and ask for a bit of informal help as to how they broke through.
Food supermarkets in particular make a big deal of the fact that they buy from the 'little man' and promote it as a virtue.
An agent inevitably will take a cut.

good idea i will persue that avenue. I saw on dragons den some guy who has only a single product & the advice was to go with a agent who represents single product firms to supermarkets & highst shops as a lot of larger shops cant be botherd with single items

Waitrose in particular make a virtue of their smaller suppliers. There is some general stuff about the process by which it happens and the forums they organise for potential suppliers. Worth attending, even if Waitrose is not your target - just to find out how the big retailers operate?

Hmm. Sounds rather a specialist product (without wishing to enquire any further).
Perhaps need to think about the target marketing channels through which such things are typically sold. Doesn't sound like a High St. retailer product runner to me. They are into own-brand or known brands, both in high volumes, sourced from Bangladesh or similar swetshops.
It may also be worth mentioning that although as mentioned above they like to use small suppliers they can also put a strain in a small business through restrictive margins, high orders required immediatley, delivery penalties, delaying payment of invoices etc. so definitely worth thinking about first.
