You will need to go to a Solicitor. Beware as you may have to pay stamp duty (1% of the value of the property if under �250,000). as well as legal costs.
Hello again, lesley. To get us started, please go to www.landregistry.gov.uk then Forms/Publications at the top then Forms from the drop down menu and print off Forms TR 1 and AP 1. Telephone 0845 6030135 speak to Option 3 and explain that your husband is gifting you his half of the property and you will be given a Form No, speak then to Option 1 who will send you the Form. We will need a signature from your husband, please confirm that this is available. Please post the value of the property and the mortgage and I will calculate the LR fee (should not be more than �40). If you do not know your District Land Registry Office look under Contact Us at the LR website and find your details there. Please say when this has been done and I will continue.
