Student insurance
My daughter has just moved out into shared student accomodation in a rented house. She doesn't live far away and will pop home occasionally. We have been told by our house contents insurers that her personal belongings - laptops etc. are still insured under our house contents and she doesn't need to take out separate insurance. If this is the case, why do so many students have to insure their stuff?

It covered her possesions also whilst the house was empty at Christmas and when she came home for a weekend etc. Did it through Endsleigh they specialise on student cover. Think it cost around 90 for the year
