Just listened to a interview with someone from the olympics commitee, who said that we would have to be as good as the chinese or surpass them, how the hell can we do that,china versus britain no comparison!!!!

Hi puddi - I think each olympic venue has something unique to offer! As an example, not the olympics, but Manchesters Commonwealth games brought the feel of Manchester to everyone out there! I was really proud because my husband was a volunteer at the opening & closing ceremonies! Loved it!
So each one is unique & gives a flavour of that particular place xxx

Well if as leg says the plan is for the venue being re - used, then it will continue to draw money in after the event.

i think we should be fine. no need to compare is there?? China had to make their Olympics 2008 spectacular as Everyone wasnt happy with them and saying it wasnt going to go ahead. they were under alot of pressure about the pollution etc. but they did OK. they have put alot of money into this to make it perfect. Although it wasnt 100% perfect (the girl, and the prerecorded fireworks, protects, journalist being arrested, some american got stabbed??). They have still made it :)

Im sure GB will be fine! it will be as good as the Chinese! just wait until 2012 :) x
