Hi all. My parents have just had a fire in the kitchen which has pretty much gutted the place. This was an accident waiting to happen as there was an awful lot of newspapers/magazines lying around the place. They'd been warned many times that it was a fire hazard. My question is if you let your property become a fire hazard and this can be proven by the fire officer, does this invalidate the insurance?

No, not unless they started the fire deliberately.

Who had warned them?
