How hard is it to get a refund?

I've recently bought a conservatory which although is very nice its been made incorectly & the company that i bought it from said they would give me a �180.00 refund, but now they're ignoring my emails & phone calls. What can do about it?

Crikey - did it only cost �180? That's cheap!!

Seriously, when you say it has been made incorretly, what do you mean? Is it faulty, it is the wrong design, not what you ordered?

Have you tried emailing or contacting the MD of the Company? Even better, contact your local paper if it is a local Company or BBC's watchdog. Have you visited them in person?
Sounds like they were initially prepared to make you an ex gratia payment without admitting liability that there is a problem, just to get you off their backs. Now they have changed their mind.
You could consider using the small claims procedure in the County Court to make a claim.
Our new consrvatory and porch isn't finished very well and we did point these out to them but they just ignored us. The things are not smack you in the face bad but as there are so many they do give the impression of shoddy, cheap workmanship and at �13000 it was one of the more expensive quotes we got.
