Where is the best place to attract sponsors?

Hi

I may be a little bit mad but in the new year I am doing a sponsored cycle ride around the coastline of Britain. Any money I raise from sponsorship will be split evenly between two charities: UNICEF and the NSPCC and obviously I want to make as much as possible for them.

After asking friends, family, neighbours, work colleagues etc what do you think is the next step to get sponsorship. There must be places on the internet where I can promote my challenge without it looking like some sort of scam.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

you could get intouch with your local newspaper get them to run an article of what your doing then get the local business to sponsor you and ask the newspaper to run another article when your finished and put down your sponsors that way they will get publicity and everyone wins!
