At best, a quarter of the guys who started Screwfix formed Toolstation.
From 1981 Jon and Jenny Goddard-Watts owned and built up the companies that became Screwfix Direct. Prior to the emergence of this brand in 1992, their two sons each became 25% shareholders of the business.
In 2003 Toolstation was launched by Mark Goddard-Watts, along with a number of former executives of Screwfix. Earlier this year a 30% stake in the venture was acquired by Travis Perkins plc (Wickes, Tile Giant, Benchmarx, etc.)
