Could someone please tell me comparing today's money value how much was �1,500 worth in 1950

This source says �1 then is equivalent to �22, but the info could be out of date. http://www.guardian.co.uk/notesandqueries/quer y/0,5753,-18471,00.html
It also depends what you were buying with the money (beer, bread, petrol, houses), whether it was invested in shares/bank/property, etc

That happens to me, too, Factor. :)
Well, I bought a 3 bedroomed semi~detached house in 1950,for �500.
That might give you some idea of what it might be worth now (just multiply by 3).
