Over the xmas period I went right upto my overdraft limit and stopped, but then something came out of my account which took my over the limit. now the bank is charging me 22 every 5 days because of it. Is there anything i can do (apart from pay it off because i have no job) to get them to stop, or claim the charges back. because now its 170 over and whatever money i get next will just get taken off me. cheers

Contct your bank to see if they will extend your overdraft to include the extra 170. Reclaiming charges is on hold at the moment, so that isn't an option.
Have you gone over your overdraft before? If it is really a one off, then you could ring them and say explain it is a one off, and when you are going to clear the overspend on the overdraft, and ask if they would consider waiving the charges on this occasion.
You could also ask them to consider raising the overdraft limit for a short time- until the date you tell them your money is going in.
Kira, I too went over my overdraft limit over the xmas period. I realised too late that a direct debit for 6.00 was due to come out on the 31/12 which put me 1.23 over my o/d limit. I had asked them on the 29/12 to extend my overdraft until February but they refused. They then charged me 35 for going over. This is on the account I use day to day and my wages also get paid in.
