My voice is on the automated phone system in the office, I welcome the caller, and offer options like press 1 for accounts etc etc. I have been told Im being made redundant. Do they have the right to carry on using my voice on their system? Obviously I wont do anything about it, but would be interested in knowing. Thanks a million.

I suspect the answer is no, but I can't back it up.
The logic for my answer is that it is something you did for your company whilst gainfully employed. Next you'll be asking for all the bits of paper back that you dealt with in your job.

I agree with buildersmate, although I assume he meant to say the answer is 'Yes': they do have the right.
But if you ask they may take it off. I know who have people who left their company and yet some company letters/documents are still going out with their name on! I don't think it's a good idea to delete it on your last day.

I don't know the circumstances of your redundancy, but can I just say pipflower, be careful and don't do anything rash. I imagine you're feeling a bit angry and upset about the prospect of losing your job, and perhaps feel you are spiting them in some way by asking them to remove your voice. Remember though they can easily record someone elses voice. What you have to consider is when or if you later ask them for a reference for a new job, perhaps they will not be so favourable with recommending you. Whereas if you leave on good terms and have a good work record, then references will be forthcoming. Anyway what a nice accolade for you, it means your company thought you had a welcoming and personable voice to represent them. That is something you can put in your personal statement on your cv. I would think that they do, in much the same way as they could still use a letter you typed or a product you created. It was done on their time therefore in many contracts it states that what you do on behalf of the company is owned by the company .... I think.
