I asked my bank for an overdraft on my current accountand they refused me. I only asked for 50.00 and there is enough money goes in to pay it back.
Now i'm being charged for an unautherised overdraft yet they refused me one, is this legal

Err, yes!
They aren't obliged to give/extend overdrafts. If you asked and they said no then you can't be surprised that they have charged you for spending money you knew you didn't have.
Of course you may get the charge reduced when the charges debate is finally resolved but for now you have to pay.
You could always try switching banks or asking again.
This could be the stupidest question I've ever seen to be fair!

You asked for an overdraft, they said "no" and now you wonder if it's legal they charged for an unauthorised overdraft when you went overdrawn anyway? Well, duh!

Unless you are saying that they charged you a fee when you didn't actually go overdrawn. Is that what you're saying? Clearly if it is then that's an error and you need to speak to the bank.
also if enough money goes in, why need an overdraft in the first place? As the first poster says no bank is obliged to lend you money - perhaps they see you as a bad risk?
An unauthorised overdraft is when you go overdrawn without authorisation. In what way didn't you do exactly that?
