Is my Credit Score good?

I just done a search on equifax and my credit score is +179. Is that good? I haven't got any CCJ's or insolvency things and I have had four searches on me - 3 are communication and 1 is mail order. Don't know what they are for maybe mobile phone? But what could the mail order be?

Well the score is out of 1000 so no, 179 isn't very good. Doesn't it tell you the company that has searched you?

oh no really? I am only 21 - could it just be low because I haven't got much on credit yet?

Not sure exactly how it works angel, but you do get additional points for being on the council tax register and having a land line phone and other utilities e.g. gas & electric. The score is also reduced by having a lot of searches done.
