Share certificates

I have been going through some old documents for somebody and found two shares certificates for Skyepharma 1 from 1999 and for 300 shares and another from September 2008 for 3 shares, was this a new share issue and is the old one worthless. only 3 shares doesnt seem a lot if they are today only �1.80 a share, any help please?

Don'r know this particular company but it's more likely that the 3 are a bonus issue, maybe instead of a dividend.
