In my experience - Until all the points in the meeting have been met and completed or until the participants leave the company.

Although most meetings don't court controversey some do and the minutes can save a lot of time and embarrasment.

It depends on what the meeting was for and who it concerns. For instance minutes of a meeting of Board of Directors of a company are a legal requiremnet of the companies operation, as it a record of how and when decisoons affectring the company were made. For a more informal setting, I would agree with Dave above, unless there are actions still outstanding they should not be required any longer
