being an agency staff for too long- can it hold against me?
i have been an agency staff for the same employer for over 2yrs, i have been trying to get out of it since the day i started.
it was only suppose to be a temp job for a few months until i find a perm job or something i prefer (just graduated at the time).
Where i work now is an organisation that do not promote or make agency staff as permanent, despite we have been there for well over 2 years. i haven't had many joy with finding a new job since i start at this place, i wanted to get into IT but is really struggling (no experience). So now i am looking for any job where i can get out of here. i am stuck at this temp job doing EXACTLY the same thing everyday...and i hate every minute of it.
this year i have applied many jobs, i get to the interview stage then, the interviewer asks 'you've been there for over 2 years and they haven't made you permanent?' the next day... i get an email 'unsuccessful' ..five rejections ..so far
i am falling into deeper depression working here, ..i turn up on time every day, never called in sickie, and get the work done correctly. The other two agencies.... turns up late every day (20mins +), then spends around another 10-15mins to make Tea/coffee (up to 3-5 times a day), pops down to shops when ever they like (20mins), spend most of their time on the website, and makes several mistakes everyday. Calls in sick every so often (excuses can be like -man flu, headache, couldn't sleep last night etc) They dont get a telling off, And we all get paid the same.-They r P155 taking cos they know i would end up doing the work, i Feel a Right Mug!
i really want to hand in my notice now!! but i need another job :( so my question is..... should i alter the date i started at this place on my CV? coz i feel being a long term agency can make other employers think im not good enough to work for them? Am I right?
