I have received a letter from the Abbey thanking me for my request to transfer an ISA from my account to theirs.
Firstly I haven't done that, and secondly how do they even know I have an ISA?. Is this is a rogue letter do you think, and has anyone else had one. It is on a shoddy letterhead from Abbey in Glasgow and the print looks as though its been photocopied 100 times. Can I do anything about it?

Get in touch with them and ask to speak with someone from their security department.
I went for a job interview with the Abbey, and although it was offered I never accepted it or returned any paperwork. For THREE YEARS following this they sent me (and the Revenue) a P60 showing nil earnings etc. Nothing about their admin surprises me. I bet it will turn out to be their ****-up rather than fraud, but I agree with the advice above.
