House Ownership Transfer
We have a summer family house in which ownership is being transferred to us three siblings, in five years, equally, from our parents. Our question is: One sibling has been living in the seasonal house for several years now and she can not understand why, when the house is all of ours that we (the two siblings) do not want her to continue to live in there full time. We are not sure how to handle this situation and wonder who the law would favor in this case. She will not even discuss it with us and we do not want to have to fight over the house's use. She is healthy with full time employment and owns another house of her own-she bought as an investment, in another state. She has been allowed to live rent-free, through our parents, and is perfectly capable of living on her own, as we do. She has never married and my parent's have been helping her out with rent-free living and enabling her. Now she thinks we are being unfair to her in asking to plan, within the next five years, to find her own living situation, so we may all have our times, alone, to enjoy our summer cottage inheritence. Thank you, Jennifer
