If they don't I think the principle to follow is that you answer fully and honestly everything you are asked, but don't need to volunteer information not requested. (They will probably want to know because they collect information at the time you apply to help decide whether someone might be entitled to income based JSA - which is means tested & the amount of capital comes into it - when the 6 months CBJSA runs out.)
In any case, it shouldn't make any difference to your entitlement to CBJSA, which is not means tested. However, if part of the payment was pay in lieu of notice you might find the start date of your JSA was delayed until the end of the notice period you had been paid for.

Unless you worked out your notice period before redundancy (which is pretty unusual), part of the payment you received was for weeks pay where due notice was not given to you by your employer. So in the eyes of the JS people, you've already been 'paid' for those weeks.
