I'm asking this question for a friend (the builder) and the details are a bit vague. Apparently his daughter bought him an ipod and told him to register with itunes to download music. He did this and whilst on the site a pop-up appeared which offered him a 3 year membership for unlimited downlaods for a certain amount of money. He paid this by credit card and was allocated a username and password. When he types in the username using yahoo it brings up a variety of sites one of which says this is a scam. He has contacted his credit card company who also say he's been scammed and they have cancelled his credit card. Has anyone else heard of this and does he need to take further action regarding his PC security.
Exactly! You wouldn't give your credit card details to a stranger, so why give them to a place you don't know on the inetrnet. What's the difference? Either way, you're going to get fleeced.
