I am 30 and I am currently wanting to change my career direction. I would like to become a Forensic Accountant but dont know what the best way forward would be. Would I be able to get a job as a trainee accountant even if I have no experience in this field ? I cant really afford to go back into full time education is this the only route available to me ?.

30 probably isn't too late to start, but most organisations will probably want you to have a good degree in a numerical/scientific subject and some industrial / commercial experience to be switching at this stage in your career.

well good for you....first thing first you must go to college and get you assoc. then bach. it would be good if you get in CJ=criminal justice as a major.......i am not sure the state you are located but you can ask the school of your choice(make sure it is a accredited school stay away from those fly by night schools/ trade schools like university of Pheonix etc) go to a real school like penn state, saint joseph, villinova, which are major schools in phila pa. then you can go to a school that is a forensic school like PCOM which is also located in Phila pa. you can also ask your acdemic advisor which forensic school you should go to. in the mean time put an app in and start off being a police officer so that way you can get the traing in law enforcement because it all ties up together.....and somtimes they can place u in a class which will move you up to be forensic analysis is the proper term.. plus once you get them degrees you can move up and who knows you will be working for th fbi/atf/cia etc..... it sounds like a lot but it is not so get started now. hope this helps
