I had a car accident and then when looking at my paperwork found out my car\'s MOT was 2 weeks out of date. The car was roadworthy and would have passed one just an oversight on my behalf. I was wondering if anyone would know how this would affect the insurance. No one was injured in the accident, there was one other car involved with very minor damage to its rear bumper, my car was written off and a barrier also got damaged.

The insurance company is duty bound to pay for the damage to the other car and the barrier. They may refuse to pay for your car and may try to recover the third party costs from you as well.
This is assuming the accident was your fault.
If your car has been written off the insurers will probably ask to see the MOT and valid TAX disc before paying out, that's assuming you had Fully Comprehensive cover. The fact you have no MOT may reduce the amount they pay you in settlement.
Sorry, I think not having a valid mot certificate invalidates the insurance.
up a small creek wit hthis one. insurance does state that the vehicle must be in a legal state (taxed and insured) as someone else said, they are duty bound to pay for other cars damage, but they will most likely claim atleast the other persons exess from you, and you might even be reported for driving with out a MOT which i believe is an offence
They may ask they may not. My car got written off...not by me...and they never asked for any paperwork.

I did have it mind.... but they hadn't even seen my license.
