Friend buying a pub - seller wants them to pay their legal fees

My friend is buying a pub lease and the seller is trying to get them to pay the sellers legal fees ontop of their own

can they do this - surely this is optional on a business lease/ pub purchase

the people who lease one of our properties paid our legal fees. I dont know it its a must though. Your friend can always walk away from the deal
It isn't a must.
He could offer to do it and reduce the corresponding price he is paying for the lease.
They are trying it on.
