if i work 30 hours a week part time on the minimum wage, how much should my boss be stopping from my wages?i.e how much should i be taking home?

Ask for a wage slip then. Or ask who ever does the payroll for your tax code.

Why do you not receive a payslip?
How long have you been working for them?
Do you have a p60?

I'm on single person's tax allowance which is £6475.00 per year......£124.50 per week.

5.80 x 30 = £174pw less £90 (tax free income) = 84 / 3 = 28 ....£84- 28 = 56 + 90 = £146.

Your boss will stop £28

Doesn't matter how you're paid they should provide a payslip.

where do you get the £90 tax free tambo.........this years tax code for a single person is 647...it was 603 last year. £6475/52 -= £124.51 tax free allowance per week.

Don't forget the minimum wage is lower under 22.
What about National Insurance?

You should be asking for wage slips whether you are paid cash or not.

So you're getting £5.80 per hour, multiplied by 30 hours per week?

That comes to £174 per week Gross Pay (before Income Tax and National Insurance etc.)

£174 x 52 (weeks in a year) = £9,048 Gross Pay per Year (before tax)

If you go to http://www.thesalaryc...ator.co.uk/salary.php and enter 9048 for your salary and fill the remaining boxes, you should get all the information you need.

Do get that wage slip though.
