I have a 2 coin which is solid; it doesn't have two parts, gold and silver coloured, which they usually do. Instead it is a solid gold colour with no other tone, and thicker and slightly heavier than the usual coin. Any ideas why this could be?

It sounds like it is one of the old ones, issued in the 80s. Not sure if they are still legal tender
Yes it is one of the original ones, issued when 2 coins were first introduced and they are still legal tender.
