I have a buy to let mortgage on my old house which is rented out. I am now looking at buying a home to live in with my partner. I was told that the buy to let mortgage does not go against me when making a mortgage application. Is that true or is the debt on that house considered when I apply for my own mortgage? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
