I am moving out to Almeria in Spain and would like to know if my past adverse credit history will prevent me from opening a bank acc and later on getting a mortgage.

Excuse the vague answer but part of the Data Protection Act covers your personal info being sent to other EU countries so it's not impossible that your debts may follow you.
I have no idea how likely it is in reality, but it may not be impossible for this to have a knock on effect in Spain.
