i want to run my own buisness, but how?
hi everyone i was wondering if anyone can lead me on the right path to setting up my own catering buisness, initially from home with the prospect of finding other premises if it takes off well. I have applied to do my food hygene and health and safety and i concider myself to be good in the kitchen, my kitchen is always spotless and i enjoy cooking. Im not thinking of anything really grand at the moment but doing buffets for functions such as weddings and parties etc. Ive done a few for family members and have always had positive feedback so was thinking of doing it professionally. Where do i go from here?????

it's very difficult to get started in the catering business and you will need a lot more than a 'spotless' kitchen. You may find you'll need some new work surfaces - see Chris's link
Your food hygiene course is as good a place as any to start but catering is often word of mouth. Do you have any idea what type of catering you want to do? Small scale or large? Full blown meals or cakes and buns? A full scale wedding for example will be amassive thing to take on board and you will need staff to help you
