My daughter got one in her change, are they as rare as they are reported to be. She is dreaming of £5,000 upwards as seen on E Bay, but I am sceptical. Any thoughts please.

when the first one with no date was noticed it sold for a silly price then the mint checked and found a run involving thousands of coins had been made, as factor30 the Mint would pay £50 for them but while not being common they aren't rare enough to warrant really high prices

Is she sure it's undated on BOTH sides? The Queen's side isn't normally dated anyway, I think.

There`s no date anywhere.
Royal Mint will pay £50 but the going rate seems to be a few hundred pounds. But maybe the price has fallen now. Look on Ebay.

She looked there that is where the silly prices are. Thankyou for your comments.

Thankyou Paddywak.
No problem mate, I remember when it first came out about these coins every shop you went in you would see everybody checking their change, myself included but I never found anything, I think I'd be inclined wrap it in cotton wool and put it away, as I said they're not rare but not common so who knows In a few years the value might rise a bit.
