Can anyone advise on whether I can ask the bank for a bankers draft, after having the money transferred into my account on the same day or does there have to be a few days between these transactions...? TIA

You can, but you will need the funds specially cleared, for which there will be a fee.

Even if its a straightforward bank transfer , therefore cash not a cheque

If the funds are received in your bank with "same day value" then they should be willing to issue a Bankers Draft that day, otherwise you will have to wait until the funds are cleared.
