debt removal

a family member lived in a house just before i did and there was a debt with a telephone company. It is on my credit file even though i was only just turned 17 at the time. can i get it removed and how?

It should not be on your file. Contact Equifax and experian and obtain your credit records. Anything that is incorrect can be adjusted. Credit records are for people and addresses together so I cannot see how you would have the debt in your records.
