inland revenue
the inland revenue have made my friend bankrupt for non payment of NI contributions in1993. He has been fighting the case ever since as our local MP wrote in a letter regarding this matter, from the house of commons "the district judge took the view that judgement had been wrongly obtained in respect of NI contributions class 2...Because the contributions were statute barred." He has been tried twice for this case which in itself is double jepordy, the solicitors working for him were also working for the claimant. he has papers to prove all of this, even though the court told him the files had been destroyed, he managed to get these files, so what do we do now? any advice??

As for the suggestion they be re-couped from future benefits that's not possible. Contributions based benefits such as Jobseekers Allowance (Contribution Based), Incapacity Benefit and Retirement Pension are all based on Contributions PAID and deductions aren't made to recover non-payment of contributions.
