crisis loan, can't get to work due to snow!!!

If I can't get to work because of adverse weather conditions, is there funding/crisis loans available to me to help me through the financial trauma?

sorry, allow me to clarify.

My work will not pay me if Im not in attendance, which is fair enough. but with the adverse weather looking likely to stop me making it into work Im worried about mortgage payments etc. is there a facility where I can claim some kind of financial help "IF" the weather begins to cause me serious trouble?

on a side note, my sons nursery may be closing early at 2pm...but they still expect to chargew us for the full day, is this legal?

with a bit of luck it'll only be for a few days - you could ring your mortgage company and tell them the situation, they may accept either a reduced payment this month or a month's holiday

What does it say in the T&C of your contract with the nursery. Why is he still going to nursery if you're at home?

If you are employed by the company are you entitled to any holiday? If so could you not ask to have any time taken off now marked as holiday that would get paid or are you a subcontractor?

he's still going to nursery providing we can get him there. But if 'they decide' to close early, shouldn't they reduce that days fees as we'd be paying for a full days fees but only receiving a half days service.

we still have to pay for any days he doesn't attend due to ill health etc, which is fair enough.

Im employed, a hairdresser. If i dont manage to go in I dont get paid at all, simple.
I have used all this years annual entitlement unfortunately, so cant try that one.
if it only lasts for a few days, its no biggy. Im just thinking ahead if it comes to this.

heres an extract from the nurserys T&C, it mentions not being liable for any losses to us, but doesnt mention anything about if they decide to close early to allow their staff to get home, which is the reason they gave us.
Im not interested in claiming them for loss of earnings, I just expect a that days fees to be reduced accordingly.

Little Monkeys accept no liability for any pecuniary or other loss suffered by you arising directly or indirectly as a result of the nursery being temporarily closed or the non - attendance of the child to the nursery for any reason."

Most contracts of that nature say, in effect, "You pay us"..............

'Your child can't attend because of something outside of our control ?' - You pay us.
'Your child can't attend because we're not open ?' - You pay us.
