Bank Closes DFaughter's Account Part II
6 Answers
My daughter eventually got to the bank today, (closed since Thursday cos of the snow). Basically, when the situation was explained to the lady at the bank, in full by my daughter, couldn't give a reason why the bank had acted this way and confirmed that though she should have been sent letters about the account so that she could have done something about it, no letters were actually sent out. My daughter lodged a complaint and the lady made it an escalated complaint so that it would be dealt with quickly.
They couldn't account for the £100 that had been paid in last week and the lady was very apologetic about the whole situation.
We shall see what the result is. SO banks DO make mistakes.

My interpretation, bednobs, wasn't that the £100 had gone missing -rather it was that the woman at the bank couldn't explain why the account closure had gone ahead despite the £100 having been paid into to bring the account back to within the agreed overdraft limit. We'll see what chrissa says.
