As we all know the VAT is going up in January. I am just wondering what this would mean to my working tax credits? Would I get abit more?

Also as I was unemployed for the 1st 6 months of this tax year my earning are only around £4,000 so how much would I get for a top up?

Politics confuses me so I don't know what to think. As I work for an agency I do 30 hours a week.

I'd be grateful if someone can help... Many thanks xxx

i dont see any reason for tax credits to change.

did they drop down when the vat rate dropped?
Its best to call the tax credit people to discuss but the VAT change will have no impact on tax credits, You can calculate what your entitled to here....

VAT is nothing to do with tax credits.

If your income for this year will be lower than last year's then you can give the Tax Credit Office your estimated figure & they will amend your award. But be careful to make sure they don't go on using this year's low income figure for their payments in the next tax year (from April 2011) because if they do you will have an overpayment & will have to pay it back.
