I bouught a new laptop and not satisfied with it as its DVD player doesn't work as I expected. I tested it with various types of media. And the DVD compartment itself loose, makes vey loud noise cause laptop to vibrate very strongly. Reported same day I bought it. They arraged it to be collected few days after.
This evening I called them. They said the product works find and there is nothing wrong with it. Loud noise and loose DVD compartment is common they told me. I said it is not common because I have been using various kinds of laptops and I never experienced it before. I suggested to check the player using similar types of DVD/CDs i mentioned on my message. They said they didnt test with that types. I said if they tested that way they would understand what I mean by very loud noise. I demanded it is checked properly but they said they already concluded that there is nothing wrong with it. I said im not satisfied with item and I wanted it exhanged or refund. They said it cant be exchanged nor refund because it is already registered on my name. I had to register so that I could access the laptop to do various test before I give it away as a present for my sister. They insisted it cant be exchanged nor refund.
Is it true that I cant ge refund or exchange to the product that I bought brandnew but not working as it should be? Please help because I feel frustrated and I'm going to loose my money because I would end up with not 100% working product.
Thank you very much for your help and advice.

What is the make and model number of the Laptop.
what shop did you buy it from? If its faulty and not doing what its supposed to do you can ask for a full refund from most shops for the first month or so..

It is ACER Aspire 5734Z that I bought from CCL Online at their trade counter. The DVD player itself is not completely faulty but most types of DVDs or CDs that are inserted makes really loud noise (loud enought to make me jump) because I didnt expect it would behave like that (as I said I never experienced any laptop DVD player behaves like that). When trying to watch a movie, its loud noise is interfering sound of the movie.

I dont know how so that I could get the refund or exchanged.
when did you buy it?

This is rubbish BTW if the item is faulty
Did you try more than one DVD? The reason I ask is that the DVD does rotate at a high speed inside the drive. If the DVD you used us slightly warped then you will get a pretty large vibration.
