but do I need to be able to cook 'really well' and have all the napkins and things like that? I can get over the annoying people and the dry humour of the narrator,

I am still unsure whether to except.... HELP......I also need the move loads of furniture round the house, move some caged pets out the house to the neighbour, where they will be safe etc.

But it would be really fun.....or I'm I blind?

Oooh it would be fun!!xx
torture i reckon
just let us know when and i will certainly make an effort to watch the show. have to fight for the remote to see this but as an avid people watcher (when in a cafe, or the like) i like finding out how people tick and what makes them tick.
I wouldnt personally.

red i'm in the Plymouth area

mixed reviews from you folks...
well I wouldnt sign up for an extra's agency, so that would explain my disinterest with appearing on "come dine", you have to remember the fact that whatever happens it will be shown repeatedly on several channels for a long time! make sure if you do it, you do it right!
Caged pets?....make sure you have a good clean up
Go for it, i need a good laugh.
yes and make sure your undies drawer is visitor viewable!

yes very true...cazz, but I suppose I am kind of a person who's nice to others, not out spoken or rude, I think before I speak, etc etc which is why I think the way the show is ......it wont be a problem for me but for people with a bigger gob than sense....hmmmm aren't these the ones that get ripped to pieces?

lol elvis yes I have OCD so no probs there
You'd either need to have all the kit, or be prepared to hire it in or beg or borrow it - I suspect other people do all those things too re moving and tidying. I wouldn't dare have it my house - I love company but I'm a rubbish cook, and people would have to move things to find somewhere to sit.
actually I would be more worried on how the editor will want to spin the show, most of the odd balls on it probably think they are nice normal people, the depiction of how you will come across on the show could be out of your hands. the production team can make mother theresa look iffy..
Definitely - go for it. I would.x
I have a friend who was on one of those money problems ("the family needed advice on how to cut expenditure" etc). The spin the presenters put on their family life was amazing, the people on TV didn't behave like the people I know. Editing the tape is indeed a wonderful tool, in the hands of people making a TV programme.

I think when I respond to her next message my main question will be "when is it planned to be filmed" because if its like a week or less I don't think I could be ready in time considering all the borrowing, moving furniture, and practising the food, I only have two chairs lol
There was a repeat of CDWM set in Plymouth just tonight. Be really careful.....and since it may be months before they actually film-take some cookery lessons...lol

Or do what a woman did in the very first CDWM I ever saw....she got it all in from M&S.

I think they said something like 'in a week or two' and that was the end of last week??? I think I 'll have to say no purely because I won't be organised by then, it's ok for people who are settled but i keep moving house, lots of things are still in boxes, as I don't own enough furniture, I think you have to be settled then you can be on you guard so to speak for the filming.

Well I am an OK cook, I don't cook often but have the ability to pick things up easily, but wanted to make food which was pre-bake/prep before people turned up then your not rushing about
Be prepared for cameras all over your house. Possible damage (I have had shoots in my kitchen twice for adverts). Be prepared for people all over your houseand garden and make sure they are insured, and over your shoulder all the while you are cooking. Do as much in advance as possible. Put pets in the cattery/kennels overnight. Lock away anything private including valuables (sorry sad but true). Take a deep breath, do your best, that is all you can do. It doesnt matter if you don't win, it is an experience. And best of luck.
