Jobseekers...
24 Answers
Iv got an appointment tomorrow to possibly claim this benefit (but I work part time so Im going to enquire about income support). They have asked for me to bring in various bits of paperwork, one item being a P45 or P60... I have neither of these... My last job was for a big cruise ship company and they just dont give you p45's as they've got thousands of people working for them (and they're quite badly organised) and my curent job have never given me a p60.... does anyone know how important these things are for benefit claim...? Iv never claimed before and suffering some tough times so thought id look into it for some short term help....

Basically I CAN claim jobseekers or income support.... but I actually wont get any money from either of them!! Never mind that iv never once in my life sponged off the state, I have worked and saved for the things I want and need. Despite the fact that I am a british citizen who has paid Tax and NI all her working life and, when my dad dies and is left in limbo about our house being re-possessd and debt collecters coming to take stuff away, just need a little bit of help in this horrible time from our supposed compassionate government.... NOOO course I can't get any help.... but scroungers, teenage mothers, crack heads and immigrants are given every possible help in the world and actually MAKE money from this help aswell!!!
Im aware that, gramatically, that rant may not have made much sens but Im sure you all get the point! What a joke this bloody country is... When I finish my degree and become a nurse, there's no chance im staying in this country...!
Rant over.. same time next week?!

No I paid tax and NI on ships... apparently the rule is... if you earn £5 over the amount you coudl claim... then you wont get anything... but you can still claim... you just wont get anything! So I sat opposite the guy trying my best not to be rude and asked... 'Why would I want to claim when I wont get any financial help?' To which he said, 'O well we Like you to know that there's help'.. so I said... 'But there Isn't help for someone like me is there?' And he simply said... 'No'...
