I have this for some months (competition win) but now the ringer and text notification won't work. Everything else is fine but it's like it's on permanent silent. I have re-set to manufacturers settings to no avail. Any suggestions?

I think, you should have to take help of Samsung service center for this issue because they will easily find out what the actual problem in your phone. You have tried by your own side, that's is perfect so now your should have to take this step in the consideration for solution.
