Inbox.com Tabs

When I switch on my computer and go into Chrome, it opens up with An Inbox.com homepage. I have to click on a new tab to get to Google homepage and all my saved websites. There are ten tabs at the top all saying Inbox.com. I get rid of them all before doing any searches in Google.

How can I get rid of them all and, more importantly, how did they get there?

I have read the instructions but I do not have Inbox toolbars. What I have is tabs which just lead to an Inbox search page. According to the list in my 'Programmes', I do not have Inbox installed. The tabs are still there at the top.

I could not find Inbox.com when I checked all the programs in the Control Panel, and neither was it listed in All Programs or in the Extensions in Chrome. What I finally tried about 30 minutes ago (and hopefully it will work) was in the very last part of your reply. I went to Settings, then to Search, and there I found "Manage Search Engines" and when I clicked on that, there it was, along with the Google search engine and several more. I right-clicked on it and had an option to delete, which I clicked on, and just part of it went away. There was a "close" or big X on the right side of the box and when I clicked on that, it was gone!

Nibble. thanks for that. I followed your instructions and when I clicked on Manage search engines, Inbox wasn't on the list.

Back to square one, I think. Thanks anyway.

Have you tried resetting Chrome?

Thanks for that idea, Chris. It looks very drastic. Do you lose all your saved website, like Yahoo and such. Will we have to reinstall them?

I don't use Chrome, Tilly, but I'd think that it works the same way as resetting Firefox, which preserves things like bookmarks, etc:

PS: If you were worried about the possibility of losing your bookmarks, you could export them to an HTML file first, as follows:
Click the Menu icon (with three lines)
Select Bookmarks.
Select Bookmark manager.
Click the Organise menu in the manager.
Select Export bookmarks.

In the (unlikely) event of your bookmarks disappearing with the reset, you could then get them back as follows:
Click the Menu icon.
Select Bookmarks.
Select Bookmark manager.
Click the Organise menu in the manager.
Select Import bookmarks from HTML file.
Open your saved HTML file.
