Has anyone ever won a prize for completing a crossword puzzle ?

I enjoy an easy crossword but no good at it.

I admired my late Step Dads speed at completing the one in his daily newspaper.

Yes, I have won £50 in the Sunday Mirror crossword and £150 in the Love Sunday magazine.

Yes I've won a couple of butcher's vouchers via our local paper. I'm vegetarian by the way ........

I won a guinea(£1.05) from THe Irish News. That was some time ago.

And I've won two bottles of bottles of Jura malt whisky, and I don't drink the stuff :(

I won the Bare Bones one and £25 three times in Sunday Express. It costs me a fortune in stamps, I usually send at least three on a Sunday then the Monday Express one.

I had £1000 from the Big Monday crossword in the Daily Express earlier this year.
And I've had a few £50's and £100's from the magazines this year.

I once won £200 for the Sat G/K Telegraph crossword,£100 from Daily Express crossword but since the I have spent that amount in postage trying to win more.
If you keep plodding away at the crosswords you will gradually get better at them, it just takes time.

Well done Sparkles .My biggest win was £500 with the Daily Record
but have won other smaller amounts of cash with the papers and Lovatts crossword books and various other prizes,a radio from the I paper and recently a DVD and a dictionary .

I've won national paper crossword about 3 times, a national magazine once - latter being a cryptic so was very proud of that one, even took photos of cheques and a Sunday newspaper crossword, feel great to have had my envelope pulled from the postbag on so many occasions

I've never won a crossword prize, but I did once get £20 for compiling/submitting a crossword puzzle to a weekly computer magazine (which has since ceased publication LOL).

Thank-you Shaneystar, I am so jealous of you winning your radio, its a relly hard crossword, we have done it every saturday for the last two years, and its quite a challenge some weeks, we try very hard to win a radio every week but no luck yet. X
