We are already having a run-in with Mozzys in Dover due to their stupid decision to unchain their trolleys overnight, and to be free to customers, with, with no token required - meaning a hundred have gone missing and are all over town.
However - I thought I'd sign up for their Match & More card, as the store is over the road from us and I do use it a lot. I emailed them a couple of weeks back to ask if/when this was coming to Dover, I had a phone call to say "soon, but you can apply on line now". So - go to Morrisons website, click Match & More.
Terse message saying "you cannot access this site until you update your browser or use your smartphone". How rude!
Chained up and coin operated trolleys are an inevitable disadvantage of store locations. Tesco in Dorchester don't use either system and don't have a problem. I'm spoilt, I can't bear supermarkets that require a coin to get a trolley as I rarely have cash on me. ra ra!
Our Tesco has trolleys that don't need a coin, fortunately we have no problems at all with them roaming around town. I'm with Prudie, I hate shopping where I need to use a coin, when I go to shop I don't want to have to think if I have a coin or a token to use, it would dement me.
Have we really become a nation that's so busy the supermarkets have to shave a minute off our shopping? how long does it take to go into the store and get a pound. We all know we have to carry credit cards to shop, having a pound coin in your pocket isn't exactly difficult is it?
Some supermarkets use trolleys which are fitted with a wheel that locks when it passes out of the bounds of the supermarket area. A newly opened ASDA near to us uses them as well as a local Tesco
Such glib answers about not having a pound. I rarely have a pound in my purse, I rarely have any cash and yes it is a big deal to go into the store and what? Buy something to get change (which requires you having a note in the first place). Cashback minimum is £5. I'm perfectly capable of shopping alone and choose to go to a supermarket that doesn't exist in an area with trolley nickers.
