bridesmaids dresses - would you care whether they liked them or not?

this is just a curiosity question

after watching a few episodes of dont tell the bride, and my own brothers wifes attitude to me while shopping for our bridesmaids dresses i am quite surprised at some of the girls attitudes...they get all uspet and fussy about the dresses...but to me i think its up to the bride what the dress is like...and basically you wear whatever they want

i said this to my sil, because i knew i would not personally like anything she chose, but said i would wear whatver she chose... but she wanted my opinion (approval) and wanted me to love her style ...but when i just said i didnt mind if i hated the dress - id wear it so not to worry about pleasing me...and she was a bit upset that i didnt love her choice... (it wasnt hideous, just not to my taste)

and the girls on this show get angry and huffy and refuse to wear stuff etc

what do you think? should BMs just wear whatver no matter what...or should they get a say?

My daughter was my bridesmaid and I had her dress made for her. She was only 10 but I left the choice of style, colour and fabric completely up to her and she looked gorgeous.

My daughter said she would pick something the colour (Fosters pink she called it!), but not the style,which was more suitable for the other bridesmaids, since she wasn't a 12 year old any more. She's paying for it herself and will have it shortened to cocktail length afterwards. There's only so much you do for a friend, if you're uncomfortable in something it shows.

if they are paying then yes id say they should get the say...but if the bride is paying and has a colour scheme and design in mind then i think they should wear whatver is chosen for them whether they like it or not...as long as its comfy etc
