 how much money will someone get from the government when they have a newborn baby, and if there is 1 stay at parent (the dad) and the other parent is at work will he gat the same amount of income support(if any) then if the mum stays at home and the dad works??? and also how long is the maternity leave paid untill???

You tend not to be entitled to income support if your partner works, although this is dependent on income.

Don't forget to apply to working tax credit, though, that can make quite a difference.
