My sister bought my mum a Debenhams voucher for about £30 for xmas. She bought it online with her CREDIT card and got it sent straight to my mums address. It never arrived.
She obviously has proof of purchase but no proof that it was delivered.
Does my sister have any rights to claim back the money...or get it re-sent ?
Take it up with the credit card people first, since there is usually some cover there.
Does she still have a copy of the email which Debenhams would have sent her, confirming the purchase (and the delivery address)? That would be useful evidence, and will have a reference number.
Your statutory right to seek redress from the credit card company only kicks in for purchases above £100. However some card issuers voluntarily provide support when the purchase is for a smaller amount, so it might be worth contacting them anyway.
Otherwise it's the responsibility of a vendor to ensure that a purchase arrives properly, so you'll need to hassle Debenhams.
