How Can I Be Less Sensitive/Anxious (As I Am Ridiculous)

I have always been over sensitive to situations, external things like criticism but most of all internal sensations.
As a child I would get very anxious and shaky if I felt sick and had a fear of it. I fainted numerous times and hated the sensation/loss of control/comming round that much that I would fear going out and it happening again for months afterwards
This has continued into adulthood, although I now have full awareness that nothing bad will happen I still get anxious and fear that it will.
Two years ago at work we were looking at/comparing each others hands because someone had a lump. A collegue (who wasn’t healthcare/medically trained) identified that one of my fingers had a nodule she could feel and told me it was probably arthritis starting. After a few minutes I felt odd as though I was going to pass out. I quietly left the room, as my vision was going a little, until I calmed down.
This was all simply because of what the person said, I am really this pathetic. I have started to develop mottled skin over my hands/wrists and mild cramping (tends to be in reaction to cool air though oddly the mottled vessels/skin only occurs at work). I probably should checked out as I have had other recent issues like reflux going on too (oesophageal dysmotility apparantly) but my main concern is that when I see my hands changing/becoming mottled at work I automatically feel very anxious and worry about passing out due to the psychological aspect of it.
Yet I would imagine there are people who rarely get anxious at things like this, how can I be more like them?
