This has just been shown on one channel on German TV, though it will be shown on many others this evening. It's 10 minutes in length and always raises a laugh or two, no matter how many times you've seen it.

``Dinner for One'' was a comedy sketch from a live show in the UK, recorded in English for German TV in 1963. Since '72, however, it has become a popular viewing tradition on New Year's Eve for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Estonia.

bb You're welcome; it is amazing how so many people in other countries love it and watch it every year, but it is barely known in Britain.

Thank you so very much for this, Khandro!  Apart from being funny in itself - it brings back a Christmas performance by our international performance arts group in (I think) c.2010 in France.  We were a mix of drama and musical performers - British, French, Dutch.

Some good friends performed this sketch and I can still see them in my mind's eye.  So 'thank you ' again and I wish you a very happy 2025.

I've just sent it on to my brother in NY...the more the merrier!
