Injections are every three months I think. The implant lasts a year. I didn't have periods on the implant but some people can get irregular bleeding but I think it's just a bit here and there.
I had the injection twice, first time I had no periods for three months (great lol) second time I had them for the whole three months. I now have an implant . I am now on my second one, they last for three and my periods are pretty regular with it.
I've had the injection 4 times now and never have a period. Not had any probs at all
Injections are every 11 weeks where I visit, although some places do it every 12 weeks. The protection lasts 13 weeks. The most commonly used injection is the Depo-Provera in case you want to look it up.

I've been on the injection 2 1/2 years and haven't had any periods or bleeding whatsoever. I panicked at first, but now it's bliss having no periods at all!

Not all women experience the same though, however on the whole a lot of women have less or no bleeding on the injection.

Hope that helps!
Same story as nect4r. I get Depo - provera every 12 weeks and apart from a tiny bit of spotting every few months I've had no period for the last 2 years.
no pmt, no cramps, no mess - I don't miss them at all!
I agree I have the depo every 12 weeks, had a little spotting but nothing major,
Its been so great, no mood swings, no heavy periods, nothing
Try the pill which is similar 1st then if your body is ok go for the depo
is it healthy to have no period at all?
would it affect your chance of conceiving if you decide to have kids later?
I had the depo injection for almost 8 years. I thought it was great as I didn't have any bleeding at all. Since stopping over three years ago, I am still trying for a baby. It took 13 months to have a period and i am still very irregular. Please consider the longer side effects- I wish I knew
